Kate Ortiz and Rob “Bobman” Crowther from Vextion
In this episode of the Chantea Goetz Functionised Podcast, the mad scientist Jim Goetz and Dr Mike Brandon sit down with Kate Ortiz and Rob “Bobman” Crowther of the band Vextion. Vextion is an up and coming female-fronted rock band from central NJ. Under the leadership of founder Kate Ortiz, the group is known for its high energy performances stemming from the passionate writing and vocal styles of its front-woman. First, Kate and Rob tell us all about their band, Vextion, and Kate’s upcoming solo album. Despite being crazy busy, Kate still finds the time to stay in shape. Sometimes she forces herself to go to the gym even if she is exhausted. If Kate has the right outfit, then she’s good to go. Her fitness journey started three years ago; it was hard, and Kate never wanted to go. However, exercise became a habit, and now she can’t imagine her life without it. Kate’s least favorite exercise is cardio, yet she loves kickboxing. As a vegetarian, Kate reveals her diet for gaining muscle. Sometimes she drinks multiple shakes in a day and will even take creatine. Then, Kate talks about how she is training for her first-ever Spartan Race coming up in November. She still needs to push herself further to get completely ready for the competition because Kate has had a few setbacks. The hardest part of the training is taking a break. Working out is an excellent mental break, so not being able to exercise is challenging for Kate. Plus, the endorphins level out our moods and improves self-esteem. Later, Rob “Bobman” Crowther tells us about his podcast called the Bob Culture Podcast. One day Rob brought the idea to Kate’s attention, and she fully supported him, and Kate is his very first podcast guest. People are following the Bob Culture Podcast in other countries; they even have celebrities on the show. For instance, he had Ernie Hudson from Ghostbusters on one episode. His podcast has turned into a journalism job, and it is all wholly freelanced; maybe his passion will turn into a new career. Recently, the podcast celebrated their 100th episode and raised money for Connor’s Cure. The event was dedicated to fighting Pediatric Cancer and featured bands like Vextion, Eddie Soles, and Charles Laurita, and The Mischief. Stay tuned to hear Rob’s encounters with WWE Divas and Rob’s thoughts on Baron Corbin continuing his evolution at King of the Ring. Enjoy the show! Timestamps:
