Tommy Breedlove is a featured keynote speaker, author of Legendary (available February 2020) and Tommy is the founder of Choose Goodness, which is a movement dedicated to helping leaders and entrepreneurs focus beyond the financial bottom line. Many individuals drive and grind daily to achieve their goals but when is it enough? Eventually individuals find there's a deep hold they need to fill and it has been filled with work. Tommy helps his clients bridge the gap between humanity and profitably.
Tommy Breedlove had a long standing and very successful career in the financial services industry. In order to succeed and achieve what was deemed acceptable and expected, Tommy found himself not being true to who he felt he actually was and wanted to be. Everything Tommy did was with the purpose of making money. The question became, how much was ever enough? Eventually Tommy did some serious self-reflection about who he was and how to live a life of goodness without compromising success. A very important lesson Tommy learned was that money was simply a tool, which did not necessarily lead to fulfillment and happiness. In compromising ones self to posses material things; true happiness is not realized. One of the best documentaries he recommends individuals watch is called “Happy”. It is a study of various societies around the world and what makes the people within them happy. Mainstream media contributes to peoples obsession that winning must be done at all costs. Happiness is portrayed by having stuff and a lot of it. It is extremely rare that happiness is portrayed through actions as opposed to stuff. Comparison of ones self to others will lead you down a path that is dark and filled with emptiness and pain as you will have the false belief of lack of self worth. The ultimate comparison is that of ones self to ones self. Once we begin this practice, we begin to change our daily belief system. It is vital we never compromise our values. Our values makes us who we are, not the items we posses. Values are often sacrificed in vain to please those that surround us. Regardless of our actions or inactions, there will be those around us who are happy as a result and those who are not happy. At the end of the day, neither is looking back at us in the mirror. It is our responsibility to surround ourselves with those who resonate with who we are and who we desire to be within those values. Tommy discusses participating in your own rescue as no one is going to come along and do it for you. Where are you in life? If you are not where you want to be, do something about it as no one else will.
