As science and technology continues to improve, so too do healthy ways to improve our quality of life. As humans, we have an innate desire to live a very long time. But unfortunately, as in the Highlander movies, “there can only be one”. While leaving that one in Hollywood, many believe they will be dead at 72, on pills by 60, and sort of sitting around waiting to die for 12 years as their bodies steadily decline. On all levels this is sad and pathetic and very unnecessary. Personally, I want to feel strong, vibrant, confident, as well as perform in all aspects of life at an incredibly high level. In essence, I want to be Superman. Science now allows us to be ever closer to this. Putting the analogy to reality, I want to be a ripped 100 year old sprinting from place to place, knocking a ball over the fence, lifting the weight I want, surfing the summer away and making love with my wife for hours on end. Cool?!?? The amount of growth hormone your body produces naturally declines with age. With that being said, the amount you need therefore the amount of growth hormone you need must be increased based on activity level, recovery factors, and your actual daily grind. Decreased levels of growth hormone result in sarcopenia (muscle loss), decreased collagen and thus elasticity, increased joint pain, increased body fat, decreased stamina, decreased libido and a vast array of “aging” ensues. These factors directly contribute to our want and desire to take supplements, injections, and live through science to prove our age. Before I really get into it, there are ways to naturally increase your body’s own production of human growth hormone. These ways are: -Increase the quality of your sleep -Decrease or eliminate alcohol consumption -Increase dairy (though be careful of other potential negative side effects) -Use a high quality colostrum or whey -True High Intensity Interval Training (see my previous podcasts and articles on this) Athletes such as bodybuilders are phenomenal test tubes for our research. Bodybuilders use self experimentation daily and are human guinea pigs. “Gym science” (not to be confused with “Jim Science”), conveys a deep neglect for health in pursuit of the perfect body and image. Each micro ounce of fat lost and myocyte gained is a plus and for the professionals, every miniature gain counts as the competition is more fierce than any non- professional could fathom. If an athlete such a bodybuilder can use synthetic hormones or other substances such as SARMS or research peptides to increase recovery and repair and improve joint function and rejuvenate collagen and cellular repair- they will do it. Every athlete and individual looking for the fountain of youth is technically a biohacker. Research peptides such as IGF-LR3, GHRP, and GHRH have been around for some time. Only now though is more research being done to understand them as opposed to haphazardly injecting random liquids into our bodies. In a future podcast we may explore some other peptides such as BPC-157 and TB-500 for injury recovery and the reduction of internal inflammation and combine this research with other research to heal injuries. In future podcasts and articles I will also delve into Epithalon and other anti-aging/ telomerease lengthening peptides and biohacks. But for now, we will delve into the world of growth hormone peptides. ——————– What is IGF-LR3?IGF-LR3 is short for “Insulin-like Growth Factor – 1 Long Arg3”. IGF-LR3 is a protein broken down known as a polypeptide. It contains some of the same molecular structures as insulin. Therefore, as a result, it mimics the anabolic effects of insulin. It contains a sequence of 83 amino acids, and the arg3 in the name refers to arginine being in the third position in this amino acid sequence. IGF-LR3 is considered an anabolic powerhouse! It is known as an anabolic powerhouse (especially in the bodybuilding world) as it causes what is known as hyperplasia of myocytes (increase in muscle cells) due to an increase in mTor activity. Several benefits of IGF-LR3 include but are not limited to: -muscle growth -muscle retention -increased physical performance -increased mental performance -improved physical recovery -increased libido -increased fat loss -improved sleep -increased skin elasticity I like to refer to bodybuilding as I stated before, bodybuilders are their own guinea pigs doing stuff that cannot be done in research labs because of ethics regulations or lack of funding due to financial interests or practical use of a particular drug. As peptides are currently unregulated, drug manufacturers cannot profit and therefore research is not profitable. But bodybuilders get it and bodybuilders are some of the truest of biohackers in the health and fitness world (both positive and negative results). As bodybuilders would eat the so called perfect diet and workout tirelessly for hours on end each day without being able to figure out how to lose a little extra fat or gain that little extra muscle, they stumbled upon and turned to IGF-LR3. IGF-LR3 stimulates anabolic activity and helps one get over that plateau. For the so called commoner or weekend warrior- they still have so much area they can work on. It’s only when an individual truly hits their physical plateau that IGF-LR3 can take someone to that next level. I will not lie and say it does not work for everyone. But until you have truly expended all resources, you have no yet earned the reason to utilize IGF-LR3. IGF-LR3 will get you past your physical limitations. However, this research peptide can also create organomegaly and cause heart failure as a result. Therefore, the risk factors are very real!!! This stuff should not be messed around with. Do not get your advice from the shady guy in the gym or the yoked guy who thinks he knows it all. This stuff should be used only under the strict supervision of an experienced medical professional. Don’t mess around!!! ——————– What Are GHRP’s? Growth hormone releasing peptides (GHRP’s) increase the pulse of growth hormone (GH). Then, GHRH’s amplify this pulse. When combined, GHRP and GHRH combined with insulin growth factor (IGF), increases the effect to an extent far greater than any single one of these substances alone. These greatly maximize the effects of growth hormone. GHRP is known as a growth hormone secretagogue. To be blunt, the so called secretagogues found in your regular supplement stores are absolute garbage. No proprietary blend or for that matter natural herb or homeopathic will release GH as well as peptides. GHRP’s stimulate the pituitary gland to produce GH. There are an absolute crapton of peptides in the GHRP family. The four most common are GHRP-6, GHRP-2, Ipamorelin and Hexarelin. Each and every one of these GHRP’s have the same benefits, which are: -decreased body fat -increased muscle -improved collagen production -increased sleep quality -increased cellular repair and function GHRP-6 v. GHRP-2 is purely generation 1 v. generation 2. There is really no wrong answer in which to use, depending on who you ask of course. Individual lab testing should be done to determine, which works best for you and particular effects as compared to desired outcomes. If you are looking to gain weight, GHRP-6 may be the way to go as it increases grehlin at a greater rate, thus increasing hunger levels. Individuals who must meet greater caloric needs such as runners or other endurance athletes may also benefit greater from GHRP-6. On the other hand, if you are looking to lose weight or fat or are a constant overeater, GHRP-2 may be the better of the two choices. From a hormonal standpoint, both GHRP-6 and GHRP-2 cause fluctuations in the body’s production of prolactin and cortisol. Therefore, from a hormonal standpoint, it is essential to be monitored while taking either of these peptides. Ipamorelin (IPA) is also a synthetic peptide product that tends to be used solely for growth hormone (GH) release. It can be dosed higher than GHRP-6 or GHRP-2, it has no effect on appetite nor on prolactin or cortisol. It is obviously much higher of a go to due to the lack of side effects, primarily on hormones. It’s far more direct in it’s intended benefit. Hexarelin is a highly potent and probably the most potent GHRP. When combined with IGF, there is probably the highest expected increase in HGH. The drawbacks are it the fact hexarelin has a high rate of desensitization. Therefore, you will need higher and higher amounts of hexarelin to achieve gains. As a result, if you are going to utilize a research peptide to achieve increased HGH release for the immediate short term, hexarelin may be your choice. But good luck with that. Once you get a bump of something you like, good luck stopping. This is why individuals on drugs such as cocaine or heroine often overdose. They need the extra to achieve the benefits they desire and the body can ultimately handle only so much. My advice is to understand the concept of long term and slow and steady wins the race. The more and more GHRP you use, despite the exact peptide, some side effects may include: water retention, excessive sleepiness, peripheral neuropathies, and decreased insulin sensitivity. DOSAGE: GHRP-6 or GHRP-2 should be injected on an empty stomach and remain on an empty stomach for at least 20 minutes post injection for maximum HGH release. One should inject between 100 mcg- 150 mcg between 1x- 4x per day and combined with Ipamorelin (200 mcg to 300 mcg between 1x - 2x day). These should be combined with a GHRH (see below) The intended effects act by stimulating your pituitary gland to produce increased HGH and suppresses somatostatin (decreases HGH during sleep cycles). ——————– What Are GHRH’s? Growth Hormone Releasing Hormone (GHRH), is a hormone (an amino acid peptide produced in the hypothalamus) that causes the release of growth hormone. GHRH also stimulates any GHRP to increase the release of GH. These two peptides compliment one another in terms of increasing growth hormone. The type of GHRH one would use with HGH and a GHRP is known as Mod GRF 1-29. It can be found by research laboratories as CJC 1292 (either with or without DAC). DAC is short for drug affinity complex. By using the DAC version, you can only use CJC for a period of four to five weeks. Otherwise, you will permanently damage your negative feedback loop used by your pituitary gland and risk shutting down any natural production of HGH your body can put forth. As a result you may have to be on expensive HGH for the rest of your days. The main reason to use a stack of GHRH with GHRP and GH is to pulse even greater amounts of GH than if you were to supplement with GH alone. It will also negate potential side effects by using GH as a standalone GHRP-----> pulse HGH GHRH----> release and amplify the HGH pulse (it’s like HGH on steroids) As stated numerous times before, only utilize these under the direct supervision of an anti-aging/ rejuvenation medical expert. Even in looking at the program utilized by baseball all star and World Series Champion Alex Rodriguez, every 30 days he was having to increase dosage. Often times the so called experts will know how to keep your body amped and utilizing these peptides but do not take into account anything long term. When used properly, these peptides may help you feel and be a better version of yourself. Over time, you may end up suffering from side effects. ——————– How to Stack & Dose The Ultimate Growth Hormone Peptide Stack: IGF-LR3, GHRH & GHRPNow that you know a bit about GHRP’s and GHRH peptides, let’s put it into practical application and better understand how to stack and dose these powerful combinations. As discussed previously, the most advantageous way to achieve the best results possible is to properly stack these peptides. Arnold Schwarzenagger once said about success that while he was considered a self made man; he then rattled off a couple dozen individuals in his life who gave him opportunities and help along the way. The same goes for peptides and hormones. Our body does not ever use one single vitamin or mineral. They are used as part of complex reactions for cellular function. The same goes for peptides. For maximum results to build a house, bring a few friends. One of the most popular and reportedly efficacious peptide stacks for improving overall body appearance, losing fat, and gaining muscle in aw ay that does not harm the pituitary gland or shut down your own natural production of Growth Hormone is a combination of IGF-1 LR3 (the GH) ,Mod GRF 1-29 (CJC) (the GHRH), and Ipamorelin (the GHRP). How to Do it? Like any food label, there is a typical serving size. Too much and you get sick. Too little and you do not get the full effects. You can purchase as much as you would like but typically there is a half life and the peptide breaks down. If you have extra, you can store it in the freezer for a few months to prolong the effectiveness. However, it is recommended to purchase a months worth (cycle) of peptides at a time. This will come in the form of a powder. You will need to then reconstitute it in bacteriostatic water. This is a filtered water with a few drops of benzyl alcohol in it. I would recommend obtaining this from a reputable lab or pharmacy to ensure quality and avoiding the do it yourself “oopses” that may occur if you do not have much experience in the field of pharmacology or mixology. Once you have both the bacteriostatic water and peptide vial, you can use this calculator to determine how much bacteriostatic water to administer to the vial of powdered peptide. There’s nothing fancy about the calculator. It is the first to pop up on google and the numbers come out right. Feel free to use any calculator you like. You will draw out the bacteriostatic water in an insulin syringe in the proper doses and administer it to the vial of peptides. Easy peasy lemon squeasy. Once you have your bottle of reconstituted peptides, store it in a dark area. I like the fridge to maintain long term effectiveness. Keep it in a safe place in the fridge though to avoid dropping it or contaminating the rubber top with pathogens. You may consider storing it in a bubble wrap bag. IGF-1 LR3 can be taken daily for four weeks before your body becomes desensitized and you no longer feel the effectiveness. A good starting dose is 50 mcg per day and gradually increase this to 150 mcg a day if you’re feel fine with none of the side effects listed earlier in this article. A monthly administration can look like this: Week 1: 50 mcg Week 2: 75 mcg Week 3: 125 mcg Week 4: 150 mcg This is not set in stone but an example. See how you feel especially between weeks 2 and 3 to give ample time to adjust to what works optimally for you. If you find yourself extremely tired, inject it before bed. The peptide is to be injected either intramuscular or subcutaneous. It can sting for a second or two so….just forewarning you to make sure this is something you will want to do and actually stick with. ***Do not inject greater than 150 mcg of IGF-1 LR3 daily over the course of four weeks to avoid previously discussed side effects such as hypoglycemia, dysregulation of blood, increase in tumor size of those who previously had cancer. Remember, HGH grows cells despite what type of cell it may be. Next we add Ipamorelin. The dose of Ipamorelin is 200 mcg - 300 mcg injected 2x to 3x per day. Many advanced (non tested) athletes administer this 40 minutes prior to training to achieve optimal results. Remember, Ipamorelin’s job is to increase the production of HGH. Therefore, if you are utilizing a true HIIT program or true anaerobic activity, then your HGH levels will be elevated. Ipamorelin will enhance this effect causing an even greater HGH dump into your system. As Ipamorelin is highly effective dosed with IGF-LRD and Mod- GRF, the second dose may be considered as part of the stack prior to bed. You can administer Ipamorelin for twelve week cycles before it becomes ineffective or the risks for side effects increase. If you experience prolactin dysregulation or any signs of estrogen dominance when taking Ipamorelin, you can take aromatase inhibitors such as Aromasin or Letrozole along with an anti-prolactin aid like Cabergoline to reduce prolactin and symptoms from increases in estrogen. Remember less is more. While a little chocolate is good, a lot is better, right? That is until we get stomach aches and throw up perfectly good chocolate. May that metaphor sink in a bit. Finally, to cap off your HGH peptide stack, Mod GRF 1-29 may be administered. As stated previously, this will allow your body to increase it’s own production of HGH without having to take exogenous HGH. Mod GRF 1-29 has been shown to help increase fat loss and increase muscle growth, improve the appearance of connective tissue and skin, and help you expedite recovery from injury or strenuous exercise. Mod GRF 1-29 is a bit more simple to administer as you do not need to cycle it. You can simply match it to your IGF-1 LR3 and Ipamorelin (GHRH). Technically you can use Mod GRF 1-29 on it’s own but for maximum benefit you want to bring it’s friends along and stack them together. Less is more and using it before bed is optimal. Mod GRF 1-29 can be injected anywhere (intramuscular, subcutaneous or intravenously). I would personally stay away from intravenously if an experienced medical professional is not injecting it as any tiny air bubble that sneaks through may kill you. That would certainly be an unintended side effect. A trick to spare needles and minimize injections is to mix all of your injections into one single syringe. They are all going to the same place and do not have any chemical reaction to one another. To achieve maximum effect of Mod GRF 1-29, inject 100 mcg 3x/d, about 30 minutes before each meal (due to blood sugar levels being lowest and avoiding any hyperglycemic incident). Incorporate it into a 4 to 12 week cycle. If you decide to use Mod GRF 1-29 on it’s own throughout the year, it would be recommended to take only 100 mcg 1x/ d before bed to avoid desensitization. ——————– How to Naturally Increase Growth Hormone & Where to Buy Peptides Overview The information contained in this article and podcast is for information purposes only.
